Life is busy in Zambia
My Dear Friends,
Turbulence, trials and tribulations have been visiting us for the past month. Everything from a car accident that left me without transportation, to a fire that destroyed a room at Redemption House, staff changes, the death of our dog, and finally, our 4-year-old in the hospital in need of stitches in his hand. By the grace of God, all is fixable and we are definitely on the upside now.
We are in the last term of school for the year. All are in class and doing fine. Thank you for the contributions that help to make this possible. Education costs continue to be a major budget item every year; and every year, we have been able to meet that goal.
It’s been almost one year since the official opening of redemption house and our safe room. And what a year it’s been!! We have been blessed beyond anything I could have imagined. Thanks to the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis Center for Missions office, we have been able to equip a children’s crisis counseling room and I will begin training a new team on how to use that room before the year is out.
At the farm, the men are busy putting fences around our new trees and orchards. Field preparation will begin soon. Pray for rains and abundant procreation amongst the livestock as this is what we eat! At this time, we are feeding 78 people 3 meals a day, so a good harvest is important!
Because of your generosity, we continue to grow and thrive. The work we do is critical, especially in the rural areas where we are located, and we could not do it without you! Please make your contribution today. The children, my staff and I appreciate you immeasurably.
May God Bless you today and always,
Carol and the kids
