      <image:title>Home - Our Organization</image:title>
<image:caption>Action for Children~Zambia (AFCZ) is dedicated to helping the children living and dying on the streets in Zambia. We are unique among similar organizations in our dedication to keeping the children we care for connected to — and involved in — their communities in Zambia. We focus on education and support our children as we live in a family-style setting. We believe that in order for a child to successfully grow into a productive adult, he or she must have roots in the communities they will return to. AFCZ is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in the United States and as an NGO in Zambia, and has attracted dedicated volunteers and supporters from countries all over the world.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Home - Get Involved</image:title>
<image:caption>Action for Children~Zambia is built on the dedication and love of its supporters throughout the world. Without our volunteers and donors, the doors of Kulunga Bana Youth Center and Redemption House would have shut long ago. Our operations are run nearly entirely on donor funds (except an occasional grant to begin a new project, and the small income we receive seasonally from farming at Kulunga Bana). We also have no paid administrative staff; all fundraising, administrative tasks and overhead duties are performed by our dedicated volunteers. Not only do our supporters keep us in business on the practical side of things, but their messages and kindness are deeply touching and meaningful to the children we help, many of whom have never experienced a loving family. We love to welcome new supporters in whatever capacity they are able to connect with us! If you are interested in volunteering, donating or just receiving our updates, please click the button below or contact us.</image:caption>

      <image:title>About - Work Program</image:title>
<image:caption>For older youth who do not prefer to pursue further education, we offer a work program. We provide any basic training they may need, from learning English to workplace ethics. We work with local employers to place these children at job sites and while their employers teach them job skills, we work with them on budgeting and household management. When they are ready, children who have completed the work program move into their own homes in the community.</image:caption>

<image:title>Leadership and Staff - Action for Children~Zambia (AFCZ) has leadership and volunteers in several countries and a dedicated staff in Zambia.</image:title>
<image:caption>In Zambia, the program is run by founder and director Carol McBrady, who coordinates not only the activities within Zambia but the operations of the supporting organizations in other countries. All other staff involved with AFCZ in Zambia are native Zambians, most with extensive past experience working with at-risk, vulnerable and displaced children and young adults. In addition, several local Zambian colleges partnered with AFCZ, and we regularly welcome student interns practicing their social work skills. This community-based staff helps the children keep their connection with Zambian culture and society while providing western social work practices that are particularly helpful to street children, such as counselling, foster care and behavior modification.</image:caption>

<image:title>Leadership and Staff - Staff Training and Team Building</image:title>
<image:caption>We are truly grateful for the wonderful team we have in Zambia. During a 4-day training session, Mama Carol McBrady facilitated discussions and teaching around the topic of child protection. We brought in our counselors from the Abundance of Hope clinic and they taught us about childhood trauma and the effects that has on our children. We spent a full day on behavior management and also discussed personnel and human resource issues. We learned many great things!</image:caption>

      <image:title>Volunteer - Visiting Zambia as a Volunteer</image:title>
<image:caption>One of the most memorable volunteer experiences you can have with Action for Children~Zambia is to visit our operations in Zambia. We welcome visitors to Kulunga Bana Youth Center and Redemption House and would be thrilled to coordinate a time with you to visit if you are interested and able. We ask all visitors to share their skills with us while they are here, whether through helping with the manual labor on the farm, supervising the children during recreation, teaching literacy classes or sharing a unique skill. Most visitors, unless they are dedicated to assisting with a specific project, spend time at both Kulunga Bana Youth Center and Redemption House.</image:caption>

<image:caption>We at Action for Children~Zambia (AFCZ) are always looking to spread the word about our work, to educate others about the needs of the street children in Zambia, to find more supporters and to keep our current supporters informed about what we are doing with their donations. To enable these strong communications, we always have opportunities for volunteers who are interested in writing articles about AFCZ. <image:caption>Grants are a valuable opportunity for Action for Children~Zambia (AFCZ) to fund for our expansion and new projects; for example, the chicken coop and chickens that have provided us with food and some income since 2010 were funded through a grant. We welcome volunteers who are interested in researching and writing grants for our organization. If you have interest in writing grants, please email us with the details of the grant and we can provide you with additional information about our organization that may be required.</image:caption>
