Kulanga Bana House Parents

My Dear Friends and Family,

Greetings from Zambia.  It’s cooling down, and our winter is beginning to settle in.  The harvest is one of our best ever and I pray you are the best ever as well.  We are all doing fine down here. It’s a quiet year, with only one grade 12 student.  Also, 5 of our boys from Redemption House were reintegrated back to their relatives. They are now happily living with biological relatives in their communities and thriving.   We continue to pay for their education and health care.  Our case manager stays in touch to assure the children are in school and their basic needs are provided.  She also helps with family counseling when needed.  It’s great to know the children are cared for, back with their families, and moving on with their dreams.

Our college and training institute students are doing great. We have one college student in surgical medicine, one in nursing, one teacher and one studying computer science.  Our three in training institutes include one electrician and two heavy equipment operators.  Second semester begins in July, and we need your financial support for each of them to continue their education.  It’s good to be part of their “growing up” and helping their dreams to come true.

As you read through this newsletter, you will learn we have exciting news from our Church.  The Carmelite Mission organization has moved into the area, and we are blessed with a priest. Father Anoop has been assigned to us and we could not be more thrilled!

The children at the farm are filled with energy and lots of joy.  Right now, we have a  volunteer from New Mexico, USA with us, and we are keeping her very busy!  School break just finished.  It was fun filled as we let the kids skip tutoring to do arts, bible skits and team building activities.  We ended with a talent show where they displayed their work, and danced all afternoon.  I was impressed with the children and the staff.  Both did terrific work, and the show was fabulous.

As always, I end this letter with a note of thanks and a plea for your continued support.  None of these wonderful things could happen without you.  Your generosity is the fuel that allows us to move forward.  The children and I appreciate you beyond words.  We pray a petition for you every Sunday, and we know you are the foundation we leap from.
May God bless you today and always,

Carol and the children of AFCZ. View Full Newsletter Here
